Pay close attention to the very end. The last minute or so is very impressive.
Mike and I do the same project to start the year. It is called, "What was 7th grade like?" This project is based on kids learning a few skills: Interviewing, researching, creating essential questions, storytelling and building a documentary. In essence, they become historians. Over the years, I have collect about 750 of these documentaries and this is the first one a parent has given written permission to post. I hope you enjoy it and I am sure this 13 year old would love to read your comment of her work.

What a wonderful and extremely well done video. It brought back memories of 1978 and it also showed me the power of technology when put in a student's hands. Great job!

This was outstanding. I find it hard to believe that kids 13 can make documentaries like this. I would Love to see more. What a great way to teach kids about what historians do.

You we be very surprise at what our chidren can accomplish, all they need is good instruction by the right teachers. Our youth today have a good eye for filming, since all they do is watch a lot of television and constantly browse over the internet. So they just have a nature feel of how videos and stories are suppose to be told. Children today are very creative when it comes to using technology.
