Garth has been teaching middle school social studies for 25 years in Ohio and New York. He is a graduate of the University of Dayton, with a B.A. in Political Science, a B.S. in Secondary Education. He then earned a Master's of Secondary Education in Curriculum from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York. Garth was hired to "test" a laptop program in Beachwood, Ohio in 2001. After one year the entire building went One-to-One. Garth has Keynoted and presented at International, national, regional and local conferences on the power of technology to change teaching and learning. Garth has also be hired by Universities, public and private school district to share his insights and ideas on education and technology.
Garth also taught graduate course at the University of Akron in Education for twelve years and has taught courses for Walsh University and the Communicate Institute . Garth is married to Stephanie Holman, a first grade teacher in Kent City Schools. Stephanie and Garth have three children, Hanna, Zach and Cassidy. Hanna will be heading to Ohio University in the fall as a member of the Scripts School of Journalism.
