Last week I was reading tweets. Jon Smith, @theipodteacher, from the Canton, Ohio area, sent out a tweet asking for someone to test the new chat feature on his blog--he uses weebly. The feature is a live help chat, called ZOPIM. As you can see by the images, it allowed a live chat to happen on his website. I can think of ways I could you use with my students and plan to give it a shot in the next few weeks. I will update how it goes. If any of you give it a try, let us know how it works. P.S. check out his website and his student created ebooks.

What a great idea his live webchat is. Once he has engaged his students and they are coinsistently using his website as a resource and just becasue they are interested in learning more of what he has to offer, they will gravitate toward using the live chat since it is so convenient.

Love this idea. We've been looking for ways to improve student feedback and added this interactive chat feature to our class help desk page to immediately connect with students who have questions. Thanks for sharing!

This would be great- assuming it works as imagined! Hope to give it a try soon! I also love using e-books as IPAs for assessment!

You should put this live chat feature on header of website so that your website visitors can access chat option directly to connect with you. Why I suggest the place of chat feature on website is that I was receiving very less chat request from website visitors when it was placed on inner page (Contact us). But when I moved it on home page, I receive nice feedback from visitors. I am using Live2Support live chat. I can say it a budget chat software.

This is a great way for people to comment about your blog without making it public! For instance if someone wants to relate to your blog through a personal experience that they don't feel comfortable sharing with the world. This is a good feature. ps: I love e-books since they are usually less expensive and can always be with you through your technology!

I realize this is an older post, but I never saw an update on this application. What was the overall critique?

Thanks for sharing.. Talking about live chat, I accidentally came across inside, and after looking through their site http://www.inside.tm/, it morphs a business website into a virtual storefront so business personnel can see and help their site visitors in real-time using chat.
